Our History

Some years ago, a group of high-school friends known as the “Gutter Boys” realized that they had been very fortunate: They had reaped the benefits of supportive families and quality schooling. So they vowed to one day “give back” to their Baltimore community, to help others succeed as they had. Those friends kept that promise.

G.B. Charities, Inc. (GBC) was formally recognized as a 501(c)3 charitable organization in July 1991. Since then, GBC has raised over $5 million and funded scholarships for more than 1300 promising students in the Baltimore area to attend the quality faith-based schools of their choice.
