GB Charities Inc. At a Glance

Our Mission:  G.B. Charities (GBC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the Baltimore Community through the education of its youth. GBC sponsors promising students from hard working, low income families living in at-risk areas, contributing to their tuition at accredited faith based schools.  By providing students with a stable, nurturing educational environment, GBC offers them the opportunity to reach their highest potential.

How we operate:  GBC chooses motivated students to receive tuition support for their elementary and secondary education.  Each student is monitored through GBC for grades, attendance, effort and conduct.  GBC also encourages extracurricular activities and community service.  All of GBC’s administrative and operating costs are absorbed by GBC members.  Every dollar donated to GBC goes directly to fund a child’s scholarship.

Total number of dollars spent on tuition:  GB Charities has spent over $5 million dollars to date on tuitions, supporting over 1300 students.

Current # of students supported: For the 2022-2023 school year, GB Charities sponsored 74 students in 25 different schools.

Current amount of dollars spent on tuition: In the 2022-2023 school year, GB Charities spent $166,650 on tuition.  In 2020, GB Charities added $220,000 to the GB Charities, Inc. Endowment Fund for the Catholic Community Foundation in support of 6 schools in the Baltimore Archdiocese.

Commitment dollars: GB Charities is currently committed to spend more than $1,000,000 over the next 8 years, on tuition for children in  low income families.

 Employees:  1 part time employee, funded through a private foundation.   Most of our funds are raised through our hard working volunteers.
